PE and Sport Premium

At Kirklevington Primary School, we believe that PE and sport play an important role in helping every child to become active, confident and resilient. We provide a broad range of opportunities through high-quality PE lessons, extra-curricular clubs such as football and multi-sports, outdoor residential activities and memorable experiences in less familiar sports. Our membership of the Stockton School Sports Partnership enables pupils to participate in competitive events and inclusive festivals, while links with clubs such as Stockton Town FC and Middlesbrough Girls FC provide further opportunities in football. Our pupils achieve strongly in the national curriculum swimming objectives.

Our commitment has helped us achieve the School Games Platinum Award for six consecutive years. We promote the School Games values of determination, honesty, passion, respect, self-belief and teamwork, helping pupils to develop both their sporting ability and their character. We use the Complete PE scheme, invest in high-quality equipment and strengthen teachers’ expertise through training such as the FA Primary Teachers’ Award. We work to ensure that all pupils can participate and succeed, with particular support for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and children who may need additional encouragement to become active.
